"Living up to the name of this community (Outwild.), things were spiced up a little bit."
Not your usual route going up Tagaytay. Most group of bikers that came from the capital of Laguna usually take on the roads of Nuvali either via Sta.Rosa-Tagaytay Road or via Marcos Mansion - Revpal. These routes only highlights the start and end point of your ride.
Living up to the name of this community (Outwild.), things were spiced up a little bit. From the capital, we rode our way up to San Pablo and later on towards Talisay, Batangas. By the moment the group reached Talisay, the scenery began. Glimpses of the Taal Lake can already be seen.
Of course the highlight of this ride is the Sampaloc climb (1,520 total elevation gain based on Strava). The start of the climb was steep already but as the uphill continues the view of the Taal Lake gets better making the climb worthwhile. '
And oh, there's one funny thing that happened, as we stopped midway to get some rest, we've met a cyclist that looks like CruzControl. Being unfamiliar with the road, we asked how far was it until we reached Tagaytay. He answered confidently that it won't take long and it will be a "rolling hills" past the place where we stopped by. To our surprise, there's no rolling hills. Literally a "budol" moment.
Just in time for lunch, we arrived at Tagaytay where we were able to took our lunch and a few minutes of rest after the gruelling climb of the unfamiliar roads of Sampaloc.
Luckily for us, it is mostly flats on our way home so the group managed to capped the ride before the moon rises.
