We usually end our kape tambay rides here at Laguna Capitol
The outwild's first four
It's funny how bikes and outdoors brings people together.
It all started from a joke. I (Ron), SK (Joma), Ben and Drei, we used to know each other waaaay back (elementary and youth week days). At first, it was just SK, Ben and Drei who occasionally rides as a group then I join them.
We admire nature on a bike ride. By climbing mountains, crossing mini rivers, going places on where we vibe with the outdoors. We also ride longing for coffee or what we call the "kape tambay" ride and this is usually the time when the budol happens. There's this one kape tambay ride when SK jokingly said, "Mag buo kaya tayo ng gravel bike?", well we just laughed at it knowing that we already have our bikes and it did not go well. Few weeks later, here we are planning for a gravel bike build. At that time, Drei is the only one who has a gravel bike, a TPGG, it serves as a basis to build a concept like what will be the parts and color scheme that would be best for us. I converted my commuter build into a proper gravel bike build. SK started acquiring parts by parts and the same goes with Ben. Months passed, here we are doing long rides and bikepacking, enjoying our build.
As this is still during the pandemic and almost everyone is still working from home, everyone is bored and looking for escape from reality. We've found other folks who's into bikes and outdoors. We usually invite them to join us on a ride and eventually they became a part of what we call the "Outwild Adventure Club". A community for people who seeks outdoor adventures.
To cut the story short, it's funny how bikes and outdoors brings people together regardless of your age, wealth, fitness and other things. It serves like our own common language.
In the end, we all share the same passion and the same love for two wheel adventures.
